SEP 30 Orellana

isabel.JPGGood Morning to you all!
Well my little girl turns 5 today!  Can you believe she is 5 already, where does the time go?  She woke up this morning with a big ol’ grin on her face and wanted to know if she was bigger!  Poor thing thinks she is going to be big someday.  I try to explain that there ain’t no hope for her to ever be BIG but she will get older and older.

We took a trip to Cuenca this past weekend in order for Guido to vote.  Sunday was voting day to approve or turn down the referendum to the constitution of Ecuador.  Guido has to return to his home town to be able to vote. The referendum passed and a new constitution has been accepted.  Please pray for the future of the country.  Pray for peace to reign here.
The work here at the camp continues.  The guys have made great advances on the administrator’s house where our family will live.  We found some leaks in the walls that had caused a good portion of the mold and those have been fixed!  They even re plumbed most of the water coming into the house so that we might just have hot water all the time now!  As for those pesky termites, well we have that battle under control too!  Pray for the house to be finished before Nov!  We have a medical team coming in Nov and we want to use the laundry house where we are living right now for the doctors’ offices.  Pray that we will be moved into the admin house before Nov 2.  It will be so nice to actually unpack and set up house finally!
The 2nd admin house is also underway.  The columns are in place and waiting to be poured.  We are waiting for some information on the placement of three more columns so that the guys can go ahead and pour!  Then we have our first of 5 work teams arriving on Sat.  This is a team of 6 people who pulled together at the very last minute in order to help us out.  We are so very thankful to them for stepping out on such short notice and coming down to help.  We also received a donation from one of our supporting churches in MO so that with the 6 workers and the donation, we should be more than ok on the progress of the house for Gus and Nicole Johannes to join us here in December.

Guido has hired 5 men from Pallatanga who have been working on those columns for the new house.  This is our first contact with these men and we do not know them very well as of yet.  Pray for Guido as he interacts with them that he will be able to share with them the peace and freedom that God has to offer.  Pray that when they leave this job, they leave as new men with new understanding of God’s love for them.  Guido has also started a Bible study with some of the leaders of the church in Pallatanga.  This church has been with out a pastor of three years and they are lead by various lay leaders. Guido has a desire to help these men learn how to study the word  in a way that will help them share it with others.  Pray that they will be faithful in showing up on Tuesday evenings and for Guido as he teaches.
As you know Nate Micklos has been here with us at the camp working alongside Guido and the national workers.  He was supposed to go home last weekend but decided to extend his stay until Dec.  What a blessing!  Pray for Nate and his time here.  Pray for Him to find the path that God has for him.  He still is not sure as to what he will do upon his return to the states.
As for me, well I have been rather useless these past few weeks. I seem to be battling some sort of stomach virus or bug that is keeping me sick and draining me dry of any energy I should have.  Pray for me to kick this thing and get healthy as I have a lot of work coming up with these teams on the way.
We pray for you to have a wonderful week and enjoy the upcoming autumn, one of the best things that Midwest has to offer i might say! Thank you for helping us carry our burdens!
Kim, for the family
