JERRY & CLARA - TRIP REPORT - In Quito
++ We witnessed the ceremonial “Changing of the Guard” held one Monday each month at the Presidential Palace. Marching music, prancing horses and flashing swords all made for an impressive spectacle.
++ President Correo was on the Palace Balcony for the ceremony, and we seized the opportunity to pray for him and his salvation and for his conduct of the government. Remember to pray for this man as he governs.
++ We also spent some time in jail - the women’s prison where Kelly Chambers and a host of volunteers lead a WED Bible Study. The message that day was from Heb. 12:1-3 (encouraging the ladies to keep their eyes upon Jesus)
++ Pray for the ladies behind bars (some unjustly) that they might accept the Gospel of Jesus Christ and allow Him to make them new. Pray for wisdom for the volunteers as they seek how best to minister.
++ We visited the “Lady of the Apocalypse” - a huge statue on the Panecillo (a hill shaped like a loaf of bread). From this vantage point we had a spectacular view of “Old Quito” and were able to pray over the city of two million people.
++ One of the highlights of the trip was the privilege of joining with the Quito missionaries at their Sunday night prayer meeting, where we enjoyed a special time of fellowship and gathered at the foot of the Throne for prayer and worship.
++ Look for snippets of our visit over the next several months. Let us know if you’d like to have us visit you in your home, Sunday school or other meeting to share in more detail and answer questions. We love to share about ECUADOR.
++ Thank you for your prayers as we went, and thank you for your continued commitment to the cause of Christ in Ecuador through your personal ministry of prayer!

#4 Praying for the SOUTHERN DISTRICT

++ WED - Pray for the house church meeting in Cuenca. Pray for the recently baptized members - that they might grow in their faith and knowledge and become aggressive witnesses to the Power of God in their lives.
++ OCT 31 - NOV 9 Susan Stiles is in Bucay with the medical team. Pray that all will progress smoothly, and many will hear the Gospel as they come for medical treatment.
++ The Johannes family will soon complete their language training in Cuenca and move to Pallatanga to develop their ministry at the camp. Pray for the construction of their new house. (OMS Prayer)
++ In Cuenca, the building plans for SEMBEC’s new premises are still being processed. Pray that the technical and legal side of all this will be successful and quick, so that work on the site can get under way in the new year. (OMS Prayer)
++ Continue to ask the Lord for new house churches in the Saraguro mountain area. Praise God for a new zeal among the Saraguro believers to reach out to others in their community. (Saraguro Prayer Guide - Saraguro

From JOSE QUILLE - DIRECTOR DE RADIO EL BUEN PASTOR DE SARAGURO
++ FRI - 7 Nov - Good Shepherd Radio will begin the assembly phase of the repeater station on Ventanaurco, this repeater will permit us to transmit the gospel to Eastern Ecuador, where many brothers are anxiously awaiting the ability to hear the renovating message of Jesus Christ.
++ Your prayers for this would be a great blessing, so that God with His infinite power would help us to put this repeater into service, and also that He would provide us with the economic resources to help us improve our system of transmitters and repeaters.

From BJ & ANDREA WILLIAMSON - New Jersey
++ We were at Friday Nite Live in Wilmore, KY last Friday. Pray that God would open the hearts of the Asbury students to the eXtreme Walk program and to opportunities for ministry around the globe.
++ Please pray for our fellow OMS missionary from Ecuador. Kathy Coon, a dear friend, has recently been diagnosed with breast cancer and had surgery. Pray for God’s healing and divine touch.

From GUS & NICOLE JOHANNES - Cuenca language school
++ Pray for someone to look out for the “lollie kids” after we move to Camp Pallatanga in December. A church has shown interest but we loolooking for an individual to encourage them and have them over for lunch after church occasionally.
++ Pray too for Senora Juanita, Nicole’s adopted grandma. She’s not a 100% anymore and if Nicole does not make sure she eats, she simply forgets.
++ James Fitzgerald will be here soon. He will spend two weeks with us in Cuenca, and then help us in Camp Pallatanga. He will also spend some time in Loja and maybe Yantzaza, to see other missionary fields in Ecuador.
++ Nicole had her two bottom wisdom teeth pulled last week. Was very painful but also very cheap, something a tight Dutchman can appreciate. She is still in a bit of pain so keep her in your prayers as well.
++ We found some second hand windows for the new house in Pallatanga, which is amazing because the second hand market over here is practically non existent.
++ The project has run out of money, with just one floor standing. But we are convinced things will pick up soon, its all in His timing. Please pray that we’ll find new sponsors for this house project.

#5 Praying for the ORIENTE DISTRICT
========
++ Remember Jorge Guaillas and his evangelism work with the indigenous Shuar of the Ecuadorian jungle. There is much nature worship among the Shuar, and the Saraguros need to learn how to present the Gospel in a cross-cultural context and reach out to their neighbors with God’s message. (OMS Prayer)
++ Angel Guaman is a key man in the ECC ministry (Every Community for Christ). Pray that his needs would be met, for anointing on his preaching and teaching and to be filled with the Holy Spirit. (Saraguro Prayer Guide - Amazon Area)
++ Julia Henry from Ireland returns to Ecuador in November. Pray for her as she adjusts to living there again. Remember her family and friends also that she has recently left. (Saraguro Prayer Guide - Missionary Personnel)
