JERRY & CLARA - TRIP REPORT - In Guayaquil
+ Thank you for your prayers as we went, and thank you for your continued commitment to the cause of Christ in Ecuador through your personal ministry of prayer! Look for additional reports of our visit over the next several weeks.
+ We attended several sessions of the AIEE 30th Anniversary celebration held at the Christian Bible Church.  It was a thrill to mingle with friends and pastors we had met on earlier visits, and a privilege to represent OMS.
+ Through a translator, Jerry preached a message from Exodus 17 about God’s victory over the Amalekites.  Joshua, Moses, Aaron & Hur each had a part - We must keep up our end of the bargain in battle and in prayer.
+ We spent some time with Jon Bartholomew and Jenny Riggs, eXtreme Walkers.  It was good to get to know them and to witness their passion for ministry.  Pray for these young folks as they continue to serve in Milagro and San Carlos.
+ Pray for Lucia, who is having financial difficulties resulting from being unable to rent out a property that she had renovated for that purpose.  Health problems have complicated the situation.
+ We met Johanna Jaramillo - the young lady who spent a year in S Africa training with Operation Mobilization - She is now the Andean representative for O.M. and recruits missionaries.
+ At Shalom Christian Fellowship we witnessed the Ordination of Pablo Pazmino and Jimmy Pena.  They will be working with Jaime Pena (Jimmy’s Dad) with responsibility for the youth.
+ We attended the Sunday evening service at the Garden of Olives Church, accompanied by Lily, a Spanish teacher with little English.  By reading a prepared script in English and Spanish we were able to communicate with the congregation that there were people praying for them around the world.
+ We were interviewed by the Director of EL Camino Seminary for an article to appear in their annual magazine.  We hope that readers of the magazine will be encouraged to know that there are people who are praying for the seminary and its associated churches and pastors.
+ One of the missionaries had a birthday party (with food & brownies and “Mexican Train” dominoes).  At the mall we watched as Ellie rode the “circle horse” and several unnamed persons challenged the “dance machine”.
