There’s an explosion of new Christians worldwide. In many regions, the response to the Gospel is in the millions. This is unprecedented in history. New Christians have to spiritually grow on their own, without guidance from a shepherd. Trained pastors are rare in most of the more than 40 countries where OMS International serves.
Through the Empowering Leaders for Life initiative, OMS will train leaders in strategic countries to ensure that new believers have pastors to guide them. In order to do this, the construction and/or expansion of pastoral leadership training centers in Africa, East Asia, Haiti, Mexico and South Asia need to be funded. Once these centers are established, Christian leaders can be equipped and empowered to transform their nations for Christ.

The OMS-related Biblical Seminary of Mexico has a first class library and an endowment that will keep it strong. This wonderful gift was made possible by the family of Reverend Levon Shaum. Levon and his daughter Peggy are with the Lord today, but they took great care to be sure that a major portion of their estates would strengthen the ministry of the seminary. Reverend Shaum is survived by his wife Phyllis and his brothers who have supported them in their dream to empower Christian leaders for service around the globe.
As we complete the construction and launch of critical training programs in key regions of the world, we are also seeking to expand strategic reserves that will be funded through the estate or planned giving of OMS families like the Shaums. These reserves will strengthen the ongoing operations of seminaries and Bible colleges around the world and will also provide for the critical homeland operations of OMS.
As you plan to update your will or living trust, please include a specific bequest for OMS to meet these needs. Steve Hoffman and Diane Arndt will assist you with appropriate wording for your plan and help you establish a charitable trust, gift annuity, life estate or other creative stewardship plans.
