Pray for the church multiplication strategy committee as they begin their “sending ministry” in earnest in May. Four trainers will go out to selected smaller churches to train their lay people in church multiplication principles over a six-week period. Ask God to use this ministry greatly for the growth of His kingdom in South Korea.
Pray for God’s direction as plans are being made for “Adventures in English” this July, to train Korean young people in English for ministry and missions. Praise the Lord for all the short-term missionaries planning to go to Korea for three weeks to minister in this program and for the staff in Korea, making preparations. Pray especially for God’s direction on provision of meals, since the dining room at Seoul Theological University will be in the midst of remodeling.
Pray for students at Seoul Theological University, taking
midterm exams from April19-23. Pray also for safety for seniors going on
senior trips during this week.
Pray for Susan Truitt, Choon Kong and Lon Osborn, beginning English
training at the Missionary Training Center on April 22. Even though the
time is short, ask that the sessions will help the candidates become more
confident in using English and prepared to serve on mission fields around
the world.
Praise the Lord that the newly built Hermon Retreat Center in Daejeon will
be dedicated on April 26. About four years ago, OMS helped raise funds for
this retreat center in memory of OMS missionary Jane Day who served in
women’s ministries there for many years. Pray that God will receive all
the glory and that the retreat center will continue to be used greatly for
His kingdom.
Pray for Bill and Diana Vermillion, finishing up their ministry in South Korea this week. Bill will preach at Central Church, meet with the Korea Evangelical Holiness Church missions department director and speak in the Seoul Theological University graduate school chapel, before they leave Korea on April 17. Praise the Lord for a wonderful time in Korea meeting, many people and sharing ideas about theological education.
Continue to pray for God’s direction in the selection of the next president of Seoul Theological University.
Pray for students at Seoul Theological University, taking midterm exams from April 19-23. Pray also for safety for seniors going on senior trips during this week.
Seoul Theological University (STU) will select its next president on May 4. Pray for God’s direction for the board to choose the person who will lead STU into its next century. Pray for God to be glorified as STU prepares for its centennial in March 2011 and makes changes for the future.
Pray for Lon Osborn, beginning his short-term ministry in South Korea. This week he is helping teach English classes at Seoul Theological University and helping lead an English camp for middle and high school churches in a church in the southern part of Korea.
Pray for Bill and Diana Vermillion during their time in South Korea from April 3-17. This week Bill is giving a lecture for theology students, lecturing at the Missionary Training Center on team ministry, preaching at a church and giving a lecture at Seoul Theological University on holiness theological education. Pray for God to be glorified through all these opportunities and in his meetings with seminary and church leaders to share ideas about theological education.
Seoul Theological University undergraduate students go on departmental retreats from April 8-10. Pray for great times of fellowship and sharing during this time.
