Prayer Requests

June 30th, 2011 by mneff

We have many serious situations here in Mexico to pray about. There are no words to thank you for standing in prayer with us.

Pray for Laura and Jorge. One week ago they were informed their baby girl, Naomi, has a large brain tumor. Naomi rallied after she had a stint implanted but then began to fail again yesterday. Pray for this young family, for the doctors attending her and for her extended family. Naomi turned 18 months yesterday.

The UNIFAM committee (Alfredo, Alexis, Benito, Juan Jesus, Colleen) is heading to Acapulco this weekend to meet with the three pastors there. Pray for wisdom and grace for all that is involved.

Steve, Helen, Nisha and Anya leave on Monday for the UK to do some funding. Pray for their packing and final days here in Mexico. Pray especially for Anya’s passport to arrive.

Memo, cook at the drop-in-center, is suffering from kidney failure due to complications from diabetes. Pray that the treatment he is having will be effective. Pray for his relationship with his three oldest children.

We praise the Lord that Leslie and Brenda have found a new place to live closer to the kids’ new school. Pray for them as they pack and especially this next week as they lead the team here from Northern Ireland and Whales.

Pray Arturo, SEMBIMEX librarian, who had an accident and now has 40 stitches in his arm.

Pray for Rosario as she is in an abusive relationship. She is a new believer from the English ministry.

Continue to pray for Nick, Lisa, Hannah and Samuel as they finish up language school in Costa Rica. Pray for their housing here in Mexico and for healing for Samuel.

Ask the Lord of the Harvest to provide the funding needed for David and Carol, Dave and Jen, Troy and Jenny, and Jonny and Gema. They are desperately needed here!

Urgent Reguest

For several weeks you have been praying for Naomi, daughter of ECC secretary Laura Sanchez and her husband Jorge Botello. Today she was diagnosed with a large fast growing tumor between the brain and the cerebelum (that is my translation of the situation). Pray for a miracle! Pray for her parents, grandparents and aunts and uncles as she is the first grandchild on either side.

Your prayers are appreciated! Thank you for standing in the gap for this young family.

We praise the Lord for his healing touch on Nohemi Esther, daughter of Zoel and Sandra. She is home and doing well. She is acting like nothing ever happened. Pray this continues and that the Lord will use this to call Sandra into a deeper relationship with Him.

Praise the Lord to the team from England who was here for two weeks working with MEFI. We praise the Lord for his hand of protection on them and the MEFI team. We praise the Lord for the 20 young people who were in the drop-in-center this week. Continue to ask the Lord for his protection on them and that many will be won for the Lord and leave the streets through this ministry.

Pray for Paulina who is struggling to get off the streets. Ask the Lord to give her the grace to believe He is all she needs and for the courage to make the changes necessary.

Continue to pray for Naomi, 16 months old as she continues to heal from her infection and muscle contraction in the neck. Her mother, Laura, works in our ECC office and studies in SEMBIMEX.

Pray for “Juan” who came into the drop-in-center this week and started convulsing. Ask or discernment for the team as they work to determine the cause. Many on the team think it is spiritual. We covet your prayers for our workers as they face these challenges.

Pray for Velina, graduate of SEMBIMEX and Mexican sister to Margaret and Robin, who was in a car accident and has 3 vertebras out of place and is in neck collar for 6 weeks and has a separated shoulder that will need surgery. Her husband is finishing up his seminary studies and they have two small children.

Pray for Carlos who has been sentenced to 5 1/2 years for a crime he did not commit. This is the preliminary sentence. Pray that the judge will be guided by the Lord and that His will be done in the situation. Pray for Carlos who has been dry for more than 5 months that this will not cause him to stumble.

Pray for Leslie’s mom who is experiencing much loneliness in Northern Ireland. Pray for Leslie as he continues his work here in Mexico at the same time thinking about his mom.

Pray for Lucy, Aida, Linda and others who are looking for work.

Pray for Nick, Lisa, Hannah and Samuel as they finish up their time in Costa Rica and prepare for ministry in Mexico. Pray for their housing and for an easy transition.

Pray for the housing situation for Helen and Steve, who are preparing to go on Home Ministry Assignment, for Leslie and Brenda who are looking for a house closer to the kids school and for Margaret, who, if she finds another house a bit smaller and less expensive will be moving so to provide housing for Nick and Lisa.

The news is getting better…Naomi is home! She has an inner ear infection and is starting on medication. Nohemi is sleeping as opposed to being unconscience and has eaten something and kept it down. They are taking her for another CAT scan. Zoel is calm and has peace,Sandra continues to be very distraught. Keep praying!

Just talked with Laura and they are still in the hospital and it seems that Naomi has a problem in her ear. The connection was not good but it seems they are going to release her today. Zoel’s daughter Nohemi is conscious but still vomiting. They are still in the hospital as well. Pray for Sandra who is feeling guilty for the fall.

I just drove Laura (ECC office) and her little girl Naomi to the hospital for tests. Seems that Naomi is listing and has no reflexes in her little feet. Pray for the family. Dad Jorge is working today and cannot be with his family. On the way to the hospital I heard that Zoel’s (ECC Naucalpan/Escuadron) daughter Nohemi is in the hospital following a fall from the 2nd floor. Pray especially for Sandra (Zoel’s wife) and their two boys, Levi and Mateo. Pray for these two families who are committed to spread the gospel here in Mexico.

We praise God for the baptisms that took place this Easter Sunday. The numbers are still coming in but each number represents a life following Christ in obedience. Pray for these that they might remain firm in their faith and be an example to others.

Pray for the UNIFAM/OMS/ECC retreat starting tomorrow through Thursday. Pray for safe travels and for the working of the Holy Spirit in the lives of our pastors, church planters and missionaries as we seek the Lord. Praise the Lord that David and Carol and Rich and Anita can be with us for this important time.

Ask the Lord to continue healing hearts of those who have lost loved ones recently.

Dear Blog followers,

Please accept my apology for not posting anything the past few weeks. It has been a very trying time for me personally and I have been very discouraged about the number of people following the blog. After much prayer and searching, I have decided that even if only two or three read the blog, it is worth it.

Thank you for standing in the gap for the work in Mexico. Don’t give up! We need your prayers.

For the only Cause that matters,
Margaret

We praise the Lord for the safe arrival of Anya to join her sister Nisha and Mom Helen and Dad Steve. She is healthy and happy and growing strong. Pray for Nisha as she continues to adjust to this new addition. We are thankful that grandparents on both sides were able to be here and meet Anya.

We mourn with Robin and Benito as they said farewell to Robin’s mom in early March. Pray especially for Robin and her brother Todd as they grieve this loss.

We mourn with Robin and Margaret’s Mexican family as they grieve the loss of Mama Margarita. Pray that the God of all comfort will be with Velina, Lucia, Aida, Rebeca and their families at this time. Their father went home to be with the Lord just last May.

We also mourn with Guille, our OMS secretary, whose mother went home to glory.

We rejoice with those who came to know the Lord during the final English classes last week. Pray for the 13 who prayed the sinner’s prayer.

Praise the Lord for the nearly 100 people being baptized in our churches on Easter Sunday. Ask the Lord to strengthen their faith for following Him in obedience. Pray for those who are hesitant yet still want to be obedient.

Pray for a new house for Leslie and Brenda closer to the school that Darina will be attending this next school year.

Pray for Nick, Lisa, Hannah and Samuel studying Spanish in Costa Rica. Samuel had a bout with strep throat and Hannah has been diagnosed with celiac. Pray for God’s continued protection on this family as they are in their final months of language study.

Pray for the team in Ixtapalapa. Pray for Leslie, Cesar and Zoel as they reach out into the most densely populated area of Mexico City. Pray for Zoel especially as he transitions from the Naucalpan team.

Ask the Lord for much fruit from this week’s special services. Pray that the full impact of the sacrifice Jesus made on the cross will be felt and that many will come to realize their need of a Savior.
