Social Ministries

Praise the Lord that we have found a reliable engineer who is drawing up plans for the major remodelling work in the Drop-In Centre which will then need to be passed by the planning department.

Praise the Lord for the doors opening on different projects and for people with expertise who are helping in the various social ministries.

Pray for God’s provision of necessary finances as funding for Social Ministries is running low.

Pray for the team at La Loma as they hold special Christmas breakfast club events in 3 different homes around the church in December. Pray that it will be a fruitful time and that it will generate active interest in the breakfast club as it starts up again in the New Year.

Jonny Pollack’s brother has been involved in a car accident, the car is a right off. He is very sore and shaken but otherwise okay. Please pray for his brother and sister-in-law as they are expecting their first child.

Continue to pray for the MacKinnon family on a short HMA (Home Ministry Assignment).  Pray for good contacts and for safety and health for Christian, Robin and the children.

We praise God that Margaret Neff’s second Mom is holding her own in her fight with brain cancer.  Praise to for the slight improvement of Robin MacKinnon’s Mom as she battles kidney cancer.  Pray for complete healing and for salvation for Robin’s Mom, Anita and her step-dad Joe.

Pray for Jonny Pollack’s dad who was in the hospital again last weekend with his heart. Pray for his health and the salvation of Jonny’s parents.

On November 8 Leroy Lindsey taught a seminar on holiness for the Salvation Army that has opened doors for contacts, and possible association with the School for Cadets here in Mexico City. Pray that this new contact will result in fruitfulness as we share a common goal.

Pray for the new module of classes in SEMBIMEX with 53 students. Praise the Lord for all the opportunities He is giving.

Pray for the Marriage Encounter held on Nov 23-25. Pray for the couples attending that God will meet them at their needs. Pray for Leroy and Kay Lindsey as they give leadership for the follow-up with our OMS-related churches and continue preparing new leadership.

Pray that we will be able to get the proper licenses and permits to complete our seminary building. It has been frustrating trying to get things done without paying “bribes” to get officials simply to do their job.

Please give urgent prayer for an Architect/Engineer to help with the remodeling of the Drop-in-Centre for street kids. We must have work done before Christmas.

Please pray for the potential development of new breakfast clubs for kids in poor areas as an outreach tool for local churches.

Praise God for health and safety especially on the roads here in Mexico City.

The Marriage Encounter Retreat is November 23-25. Many hurting couples will be attending. Pray for restoration and salvation for those in need and for renewal for all couples and workers.

Pray for the son of one of our workers who is experiencing persecution at school. He is 6 years old. Pray for wisdom for his parents.

Paul and Esther Week’s son Norton has an important doctor’s appointment coming. Ask the great physician to intervien and to give the doctor’s wisdom.

Continue to pray for Colleen Taylor’s sister-in-law, Lois as she battles ovarian cancer.

Pray too for Colleen’s neighbor she is seeking and has come to church a few times but is afraid to make a commitment.

Uplift Jonny and Julie Pollack as they continue in language school and adjusting to the culture.

Praise God for Claudia from the Xochimilco house church. She was in a serious accident and God miraculously touched her. Pray as she continues to recover and shares her testimony with friends and neighbors.

Kay and Leroy Lindseys son Steve is anticipating minor surgery. Pray for him and for Mom and Dad here in Mexico.

Pray for little Fernando Escamilla, nephew of Jon and Lupita Morton. He had surgery on Saturday, Nov 9. Pray for quick healing, and for Mom Carmen and Dad Fernando as they minister to their son.

Santa Elena

Monday, November 12th, 2007

Pray for strength and wisdom for Benito and Chucho as they minister in Santa Elena.  Pray for more laborers in the harvest, especially for women to join the team as the majority of those being trained are women.

Pray for Christiane, Miguel, Yasmin, and Christian as they are being baptized on November 18. Pray for them as they make this public stand for Christ.

Raquel asks for pray for her husband, Salvador, to return to the Lord.  He has been running for two years and she says it’s time to return.

Ana asks for us to pray that her husband, Raul would seek the Lord.

Ask the Lord to provide the funds for Miguel to pay a debt that is due.

Elliot and Belem and Jesus and Adriana hope to attend the marriage encounter weekend.  Pray for the finances and child care to be able to do this.

Mario has said for two months that he would like to open his home to a house church but keeps making excuses.  Pray that all pretenses will be wiped away and that Mario will be able to make a commitment.

Sandra asks that God would intervene with her daughter Alma, also a believer.  Alma’s recently started dating a non-Christian.

We praise God for those who are willing to be involved in training.  Pray for Gaby, Christiane, Adriana, Lulu, Elizabeth, Ana, and Rocio as they begin their classes.

Praise God for the new contacts.  Ask the Lord of the harvest to bring many into his kingdom.

Coacalco

Monday, November 12th, 2007

Continue to pray for construction of the church/training center.  Ask that the finances would be sufficient and that they will remain on schedule.

Pray for the ladies who heard the Gospel for the first time at the Ladies Breakfast last week.  Pray for follow up and for the seeds to be watered.

Pray for strength and health for the ECC team.

We praise God for our safety and for health and ask you to join with us in praying for these needs.

Pray for Jonathan and Lupita Morton taking a much needed sabbatical.  Pray for rest and spiritual renewal.

Jonny and Julie Pollack and Gary Thompson are currently studying language.  Ask the Lord to loose their tongues give them ease with the language.

Robin Efing asks for pray for teachers transitioning at the MK school.  Miss Kathryn is leaving and Miss Salome is taking her place.  Pray that the children in grades 2-3 will adjust quickly to the change .

Colleen Taylor’s sister-in-law has cancer and does not know the Lord.  Pray for Lois’ healing and salvation.

Praise God for a good visit with Andrew Agnew’s parents from the UK.  Pray for them as they return home and process all they have seen.  Pray for their salvation.

Praise God for the two young men, Juan Pablo and Domingo, who  came off the streets this week.  They have found a place to stay and will be working at the drop-in-center for now.  Pray for their spiritual growth and for success.

Christian and Robin MacKinnon are on HMA (home ministry assignment) in Indiana and doing well.  Pray for the meetings they have scheduled as they share about the ministry in Mexico.  Continue to pray for Robin’s mom, Anita for healing and salvation.

Praise God for Paul and Esther Weeks, here til December.  Ask the Lord for energy and safety and they help with projects around the seminary this week.

Praise the Lord for a good weekend of ministry outside the city for Kay and Leroy Lindsey.  Pray for rest and for plans for the upcoming Marriage Encounter weekend.

Santa Elena

Pray for these church members and their families from Santa Elena

  • Cecilia asks for pray for her husband, Jose, to come to know the Savior.
  • Gaby asks that God would continue to work in her son Bruno’s life and that he would seek Him.
  • Maria Eugenia also asks that her husband, Jamie, would come to know Jesus.
  • Pray for Adrian and Alma a young Christian couple.  Pray for spiritual growth for both and especially Adrian as he had wandered away from the Lord and has recently returned.
  • Lizbeth asks that her husband, Gabriel, would return to the Lord.
  • Irma has stopped coming to church.  Ask the Lord to touch her heart and strengthen her in her faith.
  • Pray for the lay leaders and “hijos de paz” Quetzal, Jesy, Josue, Noemi, Lulu, Hector, Ana, Christiane, Jesus and Andriana.  Ask the Lord to strengthen them and give them hearts to learn and teach others.
  • Pray that Maria Elena would come to know Jesus.
  • Pray that Erik, Julieta and Saul would return to the Lord.

Coacalco

Praise God for the building taking place on the new property. Pray for the construction, for sufficient funds to complete the building and for the witness this will be in the community.  Pray for the permits for water and light connections.

Pray for the “hijos de paz,” the leaders of the house churches, Emilea, Rosario, Rocio and Lupita.  Pray for protection for their families and for the salvation of Emilea and Rocio’s husbands.

The churches are growing and much evangelism is taking place.  Pray for continued fruit.

Pray for those being baptized on November 18.   Pray it will be a testimony to those who have not taken that step.

Pray for Abel and Melody and their new daughter, Melody.  Pray for wisdom and rest.
