Prayer Requests

Monday, August 30th, 2010

My sincere apologies for not posting anything last week. I was traveling and though I try to get something posted even on the road, the circumstances last week made it difficult. We are grateful for your prayers and trust that God will bless each one of you for you faithfulness.

We praise the Lord for the safe arrival of Brenda, Leslie, Steve, Helen and their children. Steve and Helen have found a house and should be settling in this week. Continue to pray for a house for Brenda and Leslie and for a continued smooth transition for all, especially Darina, Liam and Nisha.

We give praise, too, for Nick and Lisa who are settled in Costa Rica and starting Spanish classes this week. Pray for Hannah and Samuel as they start school today, Monday.

The Mexican Bi-centennial is coming up and many of our churches are planning evangelistic outreaches. Pray for the details in planning and that many would be involved in this outreach.

Pray for Chely in Tabasco as she is facing a difficult situation with her sister Janeth, Pray for wisdom and grace as she loves her sister with Christ’s love. Pray for spiritual healing of her sister’s marriage.

Seminary classes are off to an excellent start. Praise the Lord for several new students and for others who have returned to classes both in the Coacalco extension and the main campus. Pray for our students as they learn and grow in God’s Word.

Pray for quick healing for Margaret’s feet. She got caught in a gate and is at home with her feet up.

Pray for our youth, that God will protect them and keep them pure and holy. Pray for those working with the youth that they will have the right words to say to those who are struggling and hurting.

We praise the Lord for the way He has answered prayer and for His provision for the VBS programs in the house churches.

Pray for each lay leader in the house churches that they will hold tight to the Word as they guide their small congregations. Pray for provision in all aspects of their lives.

Thank you for praying for the work in San Pablo Autopan. Ask the Lord to continue growing His church there and in Miraflores.

Consuelo is in need of a touch from the Lord. She does not know Him as Savior and is fighting a terminal disease. Please pray for her salvation and God’s hand on her life.

Pray for God’s touch on Rafael’s knees. It is very difficult for him to walk.

Pray with us for growth for VerĂ³nica and her family, Hilaria y Oscar and Karen as they are being discipled. Pray for salvation for their whole families.

We praise the Lord for the safe arrival of Nick, Lisa, Hannah and Samuel in Costa Rica to begin their language studies. They will overlap most of this week with our other couples to help them get settled.

Pray for Brenda, Leslie, Darina and Liam, and Steve, Helen and Nisha as they finish their packing and say their goodbyes to Costa Rica. Pray for their transition to Mexico and for the many details involved in getting settled in a new country. Pray for the team in Mexico as they help with this transition.

Pray for Catarino as he is pastoring the Acapulco Center church. Pray for wisdom as he ministers and for those in the church to catch the vision for the need for all to be involved in reaching the lost.

Pray for the UNIFAM committee meeting this week. We praise God for the way he has worked and ask again for wisdom and grace for the situations facing us as a denomination.

Pray for the parents of our missionaries and pastors that the Lord will meet their needs even though many are far away.

Pray for salvation for Andres, Benito’s father. He was in church last Sunday. Pray the words spoken will reach into his heart.

We praise the Lord for the children who were reached at the VBS programs this last week in Campanario, Coacalco and other areas. Pray now for the follow-up and the the decisions made by children and parents alike will be lasting.

Pray for Alfredo, the new UNIFAM President as he assumes his responsibilities in this role. He and Miguel are in Greenwood for a church planting seminar for another week.

Registration begins this week for classes at SEMBIMEX. Pray for both new and returning students and for the teachers as they prepare for their classes.

Pray for Brenda, Leslie, Helen and Steve as they complete their time in Costa Rica. Pray for a smooth transition from language school to ministry in Mexico. Pray especially for Darina, Liam and Nisha.

Pray for David and Carol as they say goodbye to Venezuela and return to the US for their year of home assignment. We praise the Lord for all He is doing in Venezuela and pray He will sustain the ministry there.

Praise the Lord for His physical touch on Lisa and Hannah as they had strep throat last week. Pray for the training they are in this week and for their safe arrival in Costa Rica for language school.

Praise the Lord for his presence at the UNIFAM national assembly last week. Pray for our pastors and workers as they return to their churches with the charge to be consecrated and committed.

We praise the Lord that Kay and Leroy have arrived safely in New Jersey. Pray for their time with their children and grandchildren and their transition back to life in the US.

Pray for Leslie, Brenda, Steve and Helen as they finish their time in language school in Costa Rica and make their way to Mexico City to begin their ministries here. Pray for Darina, Liam and Nisha that they will transition well.

Nick, Lisa, Hannah and Samuel are at training in Greenwood for two weeks and then journey to Costa Rica to begin language school.

Pray for Benito as he continues to teach the summer intensive class til August 14. Pray for the students as they open their hearts and minds to what God has to teach them.

Pray for Miguel and Alfredo who are in Greenwood for a church planting seminar.

Campanario VBS begins on Wednesday. Pray for much fruit and that new names of children and parents will be written in the book of life as a result.

Pray for Socorro and Salvador as they minister in an area where the people have hardened their hearts. Ask the Lord for new methods of evangelism, wisdom and for fertile ground in which to sew seeds.

Pray for the VBS to be held this week in Joyas and for the contacts from the VBS in Sta. Elena. Pray too for the attendance at the house church held in the office in Joyas.

Pray for Miguel as he is preparing to be baptized and for Ofelia who wants to invite her neighbors to a Bible study. Ask the Lord to help them remain firm in their commitments. Pray too for Lilia as she begins to read the Word and she would be strong in her faith.
